ABOUT US
PIANO is a creative studio formed in 2011 with the mission to produce and distribute original and daring works. Most recently, PIANO's co-production, Ruben Östlund's Triangle of Sadness, received three nominations at the 2023 Oscar Awards for Best Picture, Best Film, director and Best Original Screenplay.
His productions have been internationally successful and have received more than 50 international awards and nominations for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival, and the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival. PIANO has produced films by renowned Mexican directors such as Sebastián Hofmann, Mara and Eugenio Polgovsky, Emiliano Rocha Minter, Lucrecia Martel, Tin Dirdamal and Paz Encina, among others, as well as renowned international filmmakers such as Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Léos Carax, Abel Ferrara and Mia Hansen-Løve.
PIANO DISTRIBUCIÓN was created in 2014 to present the best of contemporary filmmaking, giving special emphasis to new voices and original content. Its catalog is comprised of more than 40 award-winning titles from festivals such as Cannes, Berlin and Venice, and includes works by Latin American filmmakers such as Natalia Almada, Laura Amelia Guzmán and Israel Cárdenas, Elisa Miller and Carlos Lenin as well as internationally renowned films such as the Palme d'Or winner The Square, the Bafta for Best First Film I'm Not a Witch and the documentary Varda by Agnès.
