CHOCOBAR

Javier Chocobar, leader of an indigenous community in northern Argentina, is murdered in cold blood by businessman Darío Amín in 2009. The video of the crime, recorded by Amín himself, is broadcast on the Internet and goes viral. Despite the popular outrage provoked by the crime, those involved are not tried until 2018, and are released in 2020 due to an alleged "oversight" by the court. From a reconstruction of the Kafkaesque circumstances of the Chocobar case carried out within a dreamlike space - a monstrous public building - the documentary will delve into the complicity of various institutions in the creation of an "official" history, which has been instrumentalized to justify the exploitation, dispossession, and discrimination of the Chuschagasta people for generations.
