ÀVIA, THE GARDEN OF MEMORY

Àvia, portrays Montserrat Gispert Cruells, who at the age of seven arrived in Mexico after being exiled from the Spanish Civil War. At 83, retired after more than five decades as an ethnobotanist, she turns to her grandson, the director, to portray the end of her days and tell her story. Through memories, archives and conversations, the film reflects on exile, family legacy and the right to a dignified death.
